As you are all aware, Brook Community Hospital is currently searching for a new President and CEO. While I have always placed my trust and faith in the Board, I must take this time to convey my concern and appeal to your better judgment. Brook Community Hospital is not a global enterprise. We were not built to operate in this manner. Since the founding of this medical institution, we have endeavored to appeal to our community as a wholesome trusted hospital that welcomes anyone who is need of our skilled and experienced staff. We temper every decision with compassion and with what is best for the community. When our past President retired, we knew it would be difficult to fill his shoes. Initially we were in agreement that the search would not have to go beyond the borders of our great hospital and community. We need someone who is home grown and understands our mission statement. Who understands the value of what we provide day in and day out. That is what a community is about. I have been part of this incredible organization for over 30 years and have witnessed growth, prosperity and have managed difficult times with grace and dignity. The Board wishes to attract someone from the outside. Someone who has a different level of experience and engagement. Someone who does not know out hospital, staff and community. I believe our next President is here and in the presence of a great physician. Someone like Dr. Gardner for instance. His reputation speaks for itself. I am sure whoever the national search yields, they will be qualified. But do they truly know who we are? I ask that, as Chair of the Board, you heed my suggestion and give full consideration and support to our internal choice. Someone who will be able to successfully navigate our waters and maintain Brook Community Hospital as the hospital of our community. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully yours, \begin{tabular}{|l|c|c|} \hline \multicolumn{2}{|c|}{ BROOK COMMUNITY HOSPITAL 2019 EMPLOYEE SURVEY RESULTS } \\ \hline \multicolumn{1}{|c|}{ QUESTION } & 2018 & 2019 \\ \hline I would recommend working here & 66% & 62% \\ \hline Job stress is recognized by the Hospital & 60% & 56% \\ \hline I am proud of this Hospital & 73% & 71% \\ \hline I often leave feeling satisfaction & 82% & 82% \\ \hline I feel there is long term growth & 70% & 64% \\ \hline I would recommend the Hospital & 78% & 78% \\ \hline \end{tabular} Good morning my friends, As we prepare to celebrate our 125th Anniversary in a time of wonderment, it is with great trepidation that I write to you on this occasion.
