This task is a Case Study. Read the scenario below:

You are a Manager in a logistics company (AXYZ Pty Ltd) that is undertaking an extensive change management intervention to:

  • Introduce a new software to manage the global logistics network
  • Review operational processes along the supply chain to increase productivity in Australia by 20% at the end of the intervention
  • Train existing staff in Australia on the new software and processes
  • Improve the organisational culture to be more result-focused and to create work environment that celebrates and values diversity in the workplace

Your change management team comprises of personnel from the company and staff that has been employed under flexible work arrangements to support the intervention.

The team has been assembled to support your work in:

  • Planning the intervention
  • Implementing, coordinating and monitoring the intervention
  • Managing the team
  • Stakeholder management (reporting to and consulting with all key stakeholders)

The team comprises of:

  • Sam Black, risk manager, contracted for the change management intervention. He works three days per week in your head office and two days remotely.
  • Helen White, HR specialist, from the company assigned to your team full time.
  • Marco Verde, an expert in logistics, from the Italian division of the company, transferred to the head office in Australia for the duration of the intervention. Full time.
  • Akiko Ki, quality management officer, from the Japanese office, expert in quality management. Assigned full time to the team.
  • David Purple, an administrator, contracted through a temp agency for the duration of the program. Part-time 3 days/week.
  • Jada Red, IT specialist and business analyst consultant, from the company and assigned part-time to the team (2 days/week).
