BUDGET ASSIGNMENT

Categorize THREE months of your actual personal expenses - not income (November, December and January are a suggestion, but you can use any three months of your choice). Use this as a basis to build a budget for yourself and look for other areas you might be interested in budgeting or managing in the future. It may be to ideal to use a template that has a budget & actual columns to help make this easy. You can use ANY format you wish though.

2. Within Excel or separately in Word, please write two paragraphs giving your opinion on your personal expenses (too high in certain areas, wish you could save/invest more) and at least one goal you have for the future. Please make that goal SMART - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Bound. It can be based on your operational spending or capital spending. If you prefer, you can use an app like Mint or other personal finance app to work on this project. The goal is to encourage you to use Excel and to look at your personal finances.
