Building sport facilities and arenas can be a very costly venture, often running a tab upwards of several hundreds of millions of dollars, with recent professional stadiums in cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle each eclipsing the $1Billion mark. Reasons for such escalating costs can be attributed to the recent necessary provisions of a "fan experience" and not simply a venue at which to watch an athletic contest. Contributing to this experience are technological advances, specialized food, drink and other concession offerings, luxury boxes/suites, various seating amenities, as well as general entertainment options not related to the game at hand. Similarly, fitness and recreational facilities feel the pressure to offer a variety of fitness classes, recreational and weightlifting alternatives, a multitude of specialized equipment, cardio and yoga rooms, concessions and relaxation and recovery spaces and services. Technology has also impacted this industry with advan
