BUS 152 - Dan Kim Comprehensive Case # 1

1.In groups of up to 4, read the Dan Kim Case study on pages 89 to 91 in chapter 3 of the text book. Pick and answer 5 of the seven case study questions below.

2.Students will have the opportunity to discuss and answer the questions below at our September 17, 2019 class.

3.Each group will have 10 to 15 minutes to present their answers on September 19 to the class in any format (Preferably Power Point) that works for the group which will have to handed in to me at the beginning of the class in two formats as follows:

A Microsoft Word format with the Group #, names and student numbers, and answers to each of the questions below. Two page or approximately 500 word (12 fonts).

A copy of the presentation material will be saved to a desk top file.

Questions:

1.If Dan came to you asking for advice about whether to pursue this idea, what advice would you provide?

2. What aspects of Dan's background and personality traits are suited to owning his own business? What aspects might hinder his success?

3. Briefly discuss aspects of the product and business that may contribute to or hinder the success of the business.

4. What positive things has Dan done in investigating the new business?

5.What additional information should Dan obtain before completing his feasibility analysis?

6.With the information provided, prepare a feasibility analysis for the homeowner market.

7.What other information would make this calculation more accurate?
