Students of Busi-601 are asked to choose one of the business cases recorded in University Canada West’s Innovation Fuel Podcast website (www.ucanwest.ca/innovationfuel) with a view to writing a brief/concise business report focussing on the specific external environmental factors that impact/influence business/strategic planning and decision-making within the business case recording. •Students can choose the podcast case study that most interests them. •In choosing a podcast case study students should keep in mind that the focus of the report is on the specific external environmental factors that affect the business under discussion in the podcast and so you would want to be sure to choose an appropriate case with enough detail to do the analysis (or you can research additional data/information if you feel that is needed). 

•In Karakowsky, L. and Guriel, N. Exploring Canadian Business: A Critical Approach (Toronto: Pearson Canada Inc., 2015) power point at slide 4 students are introduced to several factors/stakeholders for consideration when reviewing the specific external environment of business. As discussed in class these are stakeholders that impact directly upon the business or organization. Note that if your case study introduces additional factors or stakeholders that impact directly on the business or industry, you should include them in your analysis. •A well worded introduction, with a concise description of your case, your methodology (how you will present your review), and summary of any recommendations/conclusions will introduce me (the reader) to your report. An assessment rubric for this project follows and will be deposited in the Moodle course management system.
