Learning Outcomes ULO1: Demonstrate sound theoretical and technical knowledge of business information systems. Case Study: Specialty Toys, Inc. sells a variety of new and innovative childrens toys. The business has experienced substantial growth in the last 3 years. The business currently uses a manual accounting system which is mainly prepared in Excel. To support the growth of the business and information needs the management is contemplating implementing an accounting information system. You are hired as a business consultant to oversee the process of implementing a successful accounting information system.

Requirements: Part 1: Prepare a report to the management advising on the below points: 1. Identify and compare any 2-accounting software/information systems that are available in the market for small to medium-scale businesses. 2. Discuss the software and hardware required to implement the accounting information system. 3. Evaluate the costs, benefits and issues of implementing the accounting information system. 4. Provide your own recommendation of the accounting software that the business should implement. Report guidelines 1. The report should contain an executive summary that provides an overview of each topic. 2. The body of the report should contain a table of contents, introduction, logically organised subsections on each topic, a conclusion and a list of references. 3. You may include diagrams, tables and charts these do not count towards the word limit. 4. You are free to choose what percentage of the report will focus on each topic.
