SCENARIO: Your best friend is the Vice President of one of the companies with which your firm does business; you two go out for lunch. Your friend tells you that there is a company, Company A, that has issued a Request for Proposals for a project that is worth $50M in revenue. You and your friend's respective companies intend to bid for this project. You work in the proposals department for your company and you will be the one helping to submit the proposal. Your friend has corporate authority to submit or reject any notion of submitting a proposal. You are in a position to review and authorize the final draft of the proposal for your company. Both you and your friend know that one of your respective companies will get the contract in accordance with the specifications in the Request for Proposals if submitted. Your friend, who is also very close with the President of Company A, suggests a meeting with the two of you to explore a separate proposal. QUESTIONS: 1. Analyze the scenario.
