X Amanda owns a business that sells children's toys. She sells a range of toy weapons by the Norf brand that shoot foam rubber darts, including a toy crossbow called the "Norf Bow". The Norf Bow looks like a real crossbow, Jen purchases a Norf Bow from Amanda. Jen recently divorced her former husband Justin. The divorce was very bitter and justin had secured ownership of the family home in the divorce proceedings. Jen took the Norf Bow to Justin's house. When justin opened the door, Jen pointed the Norf Bow at him and said, "You sign this contract which transfers the house back to me, or I will shoot you." Justin, in fear for his life, went ahead and signed the contract. When jen was taking the signed contract back from Justin, Jen mistakenly knocked the Norf Bow against the doorframe and it fired, hitting justin in the eye, even though she had not pulled the trigger that was supposed to activate the shooting mechanism. The new crossbow was clearly defective. Unfortunately for Justin, because she was at such close range, he ended up having permanent vision damage from the impact of the toy dart. jen brought the Norf Bow back to Amanda's store for a refund, but Amanda refused to take it back, claiming that she would not accept returns of items that had been used
