What a Week!! On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at around 8:00 pm Chancellor Bennett and Kirsten Corley decided to stop at Pete's Barbeque Smokehouse and Shake Shack. Although they knew that the food was terrible for them, they were hungry! They parked in the parking lot and Kirsten waited in the car while Chancellor went in to order. After Chancellor purchased their food and as he was walking toward the exit, the cashier yelled, \"Call the police! We're being robbed!\" When Chancellor got to the exit door, he realized that the doors had been locked. Before Chancellor was able to exit, he was knocked unconscious when one of the robbers hit him in the back of his head with a blunt instrument. The doors were locked by Donald Cashier, the cashier behind the counter, who, when he realized a robbery was taking place pushed all of the buttons below the counter, one of which was the electronic lock of the front door. Cashier had been trained on numerous occasions by Pete's Barbeque to simply give the robbers the money and, under no circumstances to say or do anything, but Cashier did not follow those instructions. Kirsten, who could see what was going on from the car in the parking lot, jumped out of the car and started running toward the adjacent BP gas station to get help. But before she could leave Pete's Barbecue's property, she slipped and fell in a pothole and broke her ankle. The pothole had been there since a severe February snowstorm. This was the rst robbery at Pete's Barbeque Smokehouse and Shake Shack. 1. Discuss fully Chancellor Bennett's rights. 2. Kristen Corley sues Pete's Barbeque. What is the basis for her lawsuit[s)? What is the likely result? Discuss fully
