CASE BACKGROUND

Alpha company was founded in $2010$ by George Smith. The main activities included making interior

design fixtures and architectural systems for construction projects like houses, restaurants, and museums.

Alpha management believed that market opportunities coupled with strong leadership skills and advanced

technology would ensure a smooth business initiation and success.

Alpha company was successful for a few years. The financial statement analysis, the quality reports, and

the customer feedback were positive. However, the business environment of the construction industry was

very dynamic. It kept changing. A recent management report showed that the profit decreased over the

past five years. However, further information revealed that the expenses of the machines and materials

remained within a reasonable range in the previous five years. Alpha management understood that the

main issue was related to the productivity of the human factor.

Alpha management realized that this situation might endanger its competitiveness and long$-$term

profitability. Accordingly, Alpha management decided to investigate the root causes of the problem. An

independent agent randomly selects three samples from Alpha$/$British Columbia, Beta$/$Ontario$,$ and

Gama$/$Alberta$.$ Data were collected using surveys and employees files. The file $($Spring $2024$

Productivity.xlsx$)$ is in the Term Project folder. You are asked to form groups of $5$ students and prepare a

management report regarding the employees' productivity and its factors. The main objective is to increase productivity and therefore lower the business expenses.
