By Waking Time
Stereotypically, college students stay up late and sleep in as much as they can, but that is frequently not true. We divided the cohort by their average wake times - those on or before 8:00am are Early risers, those after 10am are Later risers, and everyone else is in the middle. Some stats are provided in the table. Use these in your presentation and/or as part of your abstract. These are level 2 in the data triangle.
Early Risers (8am & before) | Mid Risers Between 8 and 10am | Late Risers (10am & later) | |
Number in cohort | 77 | 133 | 71 |
Females | 44 | 81 | 37 |
Males | 27 | 52 | 34 |
Percent Alarm Use | 59.5 | 61.2 | 51.4 |
Bedtime (mean) | -0.61 | 0.35 | 2.01 |
Waketime (mean) | 6.92 | 8.98 | 11.18 |
Hours of Sleep (mean) | 7.53 | 8.61 | 9.17 |
Corr: Wake & Bed Times | 0.313 | 0.560 | 0.736 |
Corr: Wake Time & Hours of Sleep | 0.859 | 0.596 | 0.259 |
Corr: Sleep Hours & Bed Times | -0.217 | -0.332 | -0.463 |
