C. CONSIDERATION 1) "A" promises "B" a gold watch for his past 25 years of faithful service. Is this an enforceable agreement? Result: Reason: 2) "A" borrowed from "B" $10,000 which was to be repaid June 6, 1995. On June 6, 2002, "A" pays "B" $3,000. After payment, "A" realizes the statute of limitation has run and now wants the $3,000 he paid to be returned. Should "A" be successful in obtaining a return of the $3,000 paid? Result: No Reason: the statute of limitations ran out, however, there was a partial payment and it reinstated the debt which began a new statue. 3) "A" offered to "B" to sell his 2002 motorcycle for $5,000. The motorcycle had never been used and cost A $21,000. "B" accepted. "A" now refuses to go through with the agreement claiming the consideration was inadequate. Should "A" be successful? Result Reason: Sal is 22 years old. Sal's uncle, Tom, said to Sal, "I will give you $500 if you quit smoking and drinking for 6 months." Sal does. Must Tom pay Sal? Result Reason I "A" says to "B", "T'll give you $500. Is this enforceable? Result 5) Reason
