Cafe Stromboli, an Italian Restaurant, is opened in downtown Saratoga Springs, and is an immediate huge success. It is so successful that two other restaurants in the very near area of it are experienceing severe declines in business. Concerned over this loss of business, each of those owners causes a couple of very critical reviews by "fictitious customers" to be posted on Yelp and Trip Advisor.Furious, Cafe Stromboli demands from Yelp and Trip Advisor the names of the parties who posted. Both companies refuse. Can Cafe Stromboli sue Yelp and Trip Advisor, and if so is it for defamation, a/k/a "trade libel", if not what can they sue for? Can the fictiitous customers be sued also, as well as the owners of the two restaurants? If so, for what?
