Calculate the material, labor, and equipment costs of resurfacing 3 miles of a 24-foot-wide section (11-ft wide travel lane, plus 1-ft wide shoulders)

Provide a break-down of the material, labor, and equipment costs.

The paver maximum paving width is 12 feet.

The asphalt overlay thickness consists of 1.5 inches of hot mix asphalt. Asphalt waste factor is 5%. Sales tax is 6%.

The project will start in 6 months and the asphalt material costs are expected to increase 2 percent in the next 6 months. The asphalt supplier's current rate for asphalt is $50/ton, including delivery, plus tax.

The unit weight of asphalt is 150 lbs. per cubic foot. The paving crew can pave 15 lineal feet of 12-foot-wide road per minute. It takes 4 hours to move the paver back to pave the adjacent lane.

The paving crew consists of the following: 1 superintendent, 1 foreman, 1 paver operator, 2 compactor operators, & 5 rakers/laborers. The project will enforce the Davis-Bacon Wage Rates below. Assume no overtime will be required for this work.

The equipment required for this work consists of (1) asphalt paver, (1) 3-ton compactor/roller, (1) 50-inch-wide single drum compactor/roller, (2) light duty pick-up trucks.

Account for equipment costs in your estimate. Use the equipment costs listed below.

Other project costs include: General conditions: 5%, Home Office Overhead: 10%, Profit: 8%.

Provide the total cost for this project and the cost per ton of asphalt.
