1. Adele saw an advertisement in a shop window stating : \"TODAY ONLY- VERY SPECIAL OFFER BUY ONE GET FREE ONE" In the shop window was the latest computer linked to a printer and a DVD player. Adele placed an order for three computers, printers and the DVD players. The delivery would take two to three weeks, and the shop would let Adele know ofthe delivery date. The mode of payment is to be made cash on delivery. The delivery arrived, but there were three of each instead of six. Adele inquired with the shop and conrmed that there had been an error, and that the advertisement should not have been in the window. As such, they were not prepared to give the extra computers and other machines to Adele. i) Advise Adele Ii} Would your answer be different if the computers, printers and DVDs were purchased online, and payment had been made via online banking? 2. George entered into an agreement with Harry for the sale of Mega Corp Ltd together with machineries and furnishing. The contract stated that the buildings were not in an earthquake zone, nor were they on a fauit line and the machineries were less than three years. The sale was agreed, and the title for the property and machinery was passed to George. Recently there was an earthquake and two high-rise buildings belonging to Mega lCorp collapsed. George was informed later that the machineries were over 5 years old. George wants to repudiate the contract. Advise George, giving reasons for your answer. 3. Machine products PLC had their factory renovated at a cost of 1,500,000.00 by Hopeless Contractor PLC. The work was completed, and the invoice was issued for 1,500,000.00. Machine products were not satised with the work, and asked the contractors to return and complete the job to their satisfaction. After several months they were still not satised, and offered to pay 1,000,000.0D, and the rest after they were satised with the job. The contractors accepted the cheque, and signed a letter of waiver of claim. They signed the documents, but are now seeking the outstanding amount. Advise Hopeless Contractor PLC
