A new management system is required to replace the Microsoft Excel on managing employees. 2.0 Business Objective Developing a new employee management software to take the response of managing employees in the company. to achieve fast and strong methods in managing employees. 3.0 Current Situation and Problem/Opportunity Statement Microsoft Excel can perform slowly in managing that amount of employees (1000+). A fast performing software is essential. 4.0 Critical Assumption and Constraints The whole development process of the project should not take too much time (longer than 1 to 2 months) because the management of employees is hard-required for the company to run. At least the first release with basic functionality should come up within a month. 5.0 Analysis of Option and Recommendation Option 1: The company can collaborate with an external software developing team to finish the software system, if the current number of employees is not enough to finish the project. Benefits: Have more professional choices on software teams. Cons: May cost more money. No fully control on development Option 2: Forming a new software development team by internal recruiting. The new team forms a software studio with internal cooperation with Bella. Benefits: Cost less money or budget is estimable. More control in development Cons: May not be as professional as the external teams. Recommendation: Option 2 will be better because for a software used for internal systems, it will be more secure to develop it internally. The further maintenance and testing may address the issue of unprofessional. 6.0 Preliminary Project Requirements The software should be able to perform the creation, reading, updating, and deletion tasks (crud) of each employees and their information in the system (company)Also the signing up functionality for employees, as well as the records of the attendance status within a period of time Can display a clear schedule of shifts of each employee 7.0 Budget Estimate and Financial Analysis We may need a team of more than 5 people to work on the software. As the company expects the software could be fully developed within 1 to 2 months, 8 hours a day shift. We choose the intellij IDEA as our main IDE for development. With two months of subscription in 170 CAD.
