This is homework required.

What: Learning rarely if ever happens in isolation.Your weekly learning both in the classroom, through the text, interacting with others (both in person and online), and connecting with the hospitality industry through online conversations and article reviews, contribute to our experience and are integral parts of your learning in this class. Your grade for this weekly article discussion will be part of this process.

Why & How: Learning is not an event; it is a process. Discussion and idea exchange is a widely-used process for learning and we will incorporate this by weekly online blog posting. The discussions will be centred on specific issues relating to hospitality marketing, hospitality trends and hospitality issues.

In digital contexts, this assignment will take the form of a blog on Google (Blogger) for the same purpose.Each group can decide what they wish to and must inform the teacher which direction they are taking their assignment. The link will be posted on e-Centennial for all to ensure access.

What: 1. Each group must choose an industry related article. You will choose your own topic and find acredible news articles (at least 3) for it. You will then a blog based on your own "views" on the information found in the articles.

Your team CANNOT use Social Media articles such as the ones from LinkedIn or Facebook, or any journal articles, essays, or any other blogs.

The topic and the article MUST BE APPROVED by me prior to starting the assignment. This will ensure that no two groups are doing the exact same topic.

DO NOT JUST RESTATE THE ARTICLE - DISCUSS IT AND SUPPORT IT WITH ADDITIONAL MATERIAL!

2. Your group MUST be ready to present on your allotted time or else you will receive a ZERO on the assignment. All presentations will take place in-class during Week 5 (Feb 5, 2020).

3.You must submit at ONE PAGE document (see the "Sample One Page Document Submission" posted on e-centennial) to the Dropbox on Sunday Feb 4, 2020 by 12:00 PM (NOON).

Please make sure that your blog link is posted in that one-page document so that the link can be provided to the class to access and comment on for the "Blog Response Assignment".

4.You will be required to have the blog ready before the start of that class.You must show the class how they can reach/view your submission.Your blog link will be posted on our e-Centennial site.

5.The group will introduce the MAIN article, take a stand/viewpoint on the topic with supporting material (i.e. other articles, videos, historical data, interviews, surveys etc.) and present the blog to the class. At the end of the presentation, group will ask some leading questions related to the article/topic.

You may not just copy an article; you must comment on an industry article that is of interest to you.

6.All blogs must include proper references (in APA to the materials used in the blog including articles used as well as videos and images used.Failure to do so will mean a loss of marks for your submission.

7.You must respond as a team to all your class-mate's postings/comments to your blog. (Failure to do so will be a loss of 10 marks - Point 7 - of the assignment evaluation scheme)

NOTE: There will be a peer evaluation form provided to you in WEEK 5 to evaluate your team. Your individual grade may or may not be impacted based on your group's evaluation of your contribution.
