Currently, I work as a server at my local Olive Garden. If you have ever worked in a restaurant environment, you will know they utilize an Agile Methodology in most day to day operation. While we often associate an Agile Methodology with projects and software development, the principles can be applied in many aspects of business. According to Red Hat, "Agile is not a set of prescriptions for exactly which actions to take in software development. Instead, it is a way of thinking about collaboration and workflows and it is a set of values which guide our choices in regards to what we make and how we make it. In practical terms, agile software development methodologies are all about delivering small pieces of working software quickly to improve customer satisfaction. These methodologies use adaptive approaches and teamwork to focus on continuous improvement" (Red Hat, 2022). These ideas are applied to my workplace on a daily basis. Managers are utilized to support the team wherever necessary, whether it be on the dining floor or kitchen. Kitchen workers work directly alongside service staff at times in order to maximize customer satisfaction. In other words, there is very little 'red tape' in my workplace. All employees at all different levels work together to accomplish smaller tasks in a short period of time, all with the intent to maximize the customers' satisfaction.

Overall, I feel that this methodology is the ideal methodology for a restaurant environment. If there was a more waterfall approach, completing tasks could take entirely too long. In a restaurant, which is fast paced to begin with, the more red tape, and the less collaboration between departments would result in a slower delivery of product, thus a lower customer satisfaction. Therefore, I would not alter the methodology.
