Can someone explain to me how I am supposed to get the SYX linear and quadratic as well as the MAD linear and quadratic. I think I am missing a step in the process and cannot figure it out. I thought I had it but I do not.
The accompanying data represent the yearly amount of solar power installed (in megawatts) in a particular area from 2000 through 2008. The trend forecasting equations below were found, where X is the number of years after 2000.
Yi= -9.867 + 28. 2167xi Y= 20.95 + 1.80xi + 3.3019
I need to find the SYX linear and quadratic and the MAD linear and quadratic. I am using excel but I do not believe I am doing it correctly.
I am not looking for the answer. I am looking for how to get to the answer with the information I have supplied. Thank you
