1. As a member of IE 323 class this semester, we have been asked to help the IE department with an issue in the FANIE lab. The machinery in the lab needs to be periodically cleaned and the technicians have decided that they will need 4 electric presSure washers with a pressure capacity of at least 1800 psi. From past experience, the problem with the washers has been the force needed to activate the triggers. All of these washers include a gun that helps the operator give direction to the water output and these are activated by a trigger system. The triggers seem to get harder to press the more the operators use them and they have even led to some minor injuries due to fatigue. As a group, we decide it is best to analyze the amount of force necessary to press the trigger. Research online does not provide information about the trigger force necessary to activate the washer for any of the brands the FAME lab is interested in purchasing. Fortunately, we are able to convince the department to invest in one power washer in order for us to conduct a study. We recruit six people to help with our data collection (4 males, 2 females). Data is collected as follows: They all used their dominating hand for the exercise and held their arm bent at a 90-degree angle. To introduce fatigue to the exercise the subjects were asked to grip a hand gripper for different periods of time and then perform the experiment. The experiment consisted of: 1. Holding the hand gripper for a period of 10 seconds while standing up with their arm bent at a 90-degree angle 2. Gripping the power tool or pressme washer gun in the same way and pressing the trigger 5 times 3. Gripping the Dynamometer in the same way and trying to exert the same amount of force as they did while pressing the trigger in either the power tool or the pressure washer 4. Two measurements of the force were recorded for each trial 5 Steps 1 to 4 were repeated for all trials with the variation of increasing the period of time the subject held the hand gripper to 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 seconds (listed as Introduced Fatigue in data). We will focus on the measurements for one of the male candidates: Introduced FatLue sec X Force [15... l'r \" \" \" \" _ \" Perform a complete regression analysis using Minitab to determine whether or not the simple linear regression model is appropriate for this data. You must include a well written and mm analysis in addition to the Minitab output. For any tests, use a = 0.05. Attach your Minitab output when handing in your assignment
