Population of the Study The study was conducted in four (4) sections in Tarlac Agricultural University Laboratory High School, thirty-nine (39) students in grade eleven (11) STEM A, thirty-nine (39) students in grade eleven (11) STEM B, thirty-eight (38) students in grade twelve (12) STEM A, and thirty-nine (39) students in grade twelve (12) STEM B during the school year 2022-2023. The study involved four (4) sections and one hundred fifty-five (155) students. Sampling Design The study will use a simple random sampling design wherein the respondents has an equal chance of being selected according to the purpose of the research. Methods of Gathering Data Once the proposal is approved and permission to proceed with the research is obtained, data collection will be inaugurated at once. One hundred fifty-five (155) STEM Students from different grade levels and sections will be asked and approved to participate in a survey to gather data for the research and after that the researchers will provide them with a briefing on what the thesis is all about. Once the briefing is finished and agreement is done, the survey commenced via google forms. The details and information are noted by the researchers. The interview is settled by using a questionnaire form by the researchers as a guide to the respondents. Instrumentation The instrument used was a questionnaire checklist made by the researcher to gather the needed data for the respondent's/student's profile. The draft of the questionnaire was completed based on the researcher's readings, previous studies, published and unpolished thesis that are relevant to the study. In the preparation of the instrument, the requirements to the good dataMETHODS OF STUDY AND SOURCES OF DATA This chapter discusses the methodology of the study, the research design, population of the study, sampling design, methods of gathering data, instrumentation, and statistical treatment. Research Design This study made use of the descriptive method of research. Gamboa (2011) cited that the descriptive method is used to describe a situation or given the state of affairs in terms of specified effects or factors. This study examines the factors of Science and Math achievement as influenced by socioeconomic status and attitude toward the subject. Google Docs will be used with the respondents to be able to get their socioeconomic status and attitude towards math and science subjects and their academic performance too. What may be described are characteristics of individual groups (students) or the environment (house and others). The descriptive method is designed to gather information about the present conditions. With this method, one can describe the nature of the situation that existed at the time of the study and explore the causes of a particular phenomenon. Since the present study aimed to determine and describe the influence of socioeconomic status and attitude towards the math and science subject to STEM students from grade eleven (11) to grade twelve (12) in Tarlac Agricultural University Laboratory High School, the descriptive method of research was the most appropriate. Population of the Studycollection instrument were well thought-out. The researchers considered many options that accommodated a free formatted view related to the study, topics or issues. Through this way, the instrument is authorized to acquire valid responses of the respondents/students. Preference on the structured questionnaire is premised on several research assumptions, such as a) easy to understand and answer of the questionnaire, b) less pressure for getting immediate response, c.) avoidance of personal bias. In this way, the responses on sensitive issues are well opened
