image text in transcribed FINANCIAL CRISIS OF 20072008 Finance Abstract This is my final term paper for my finance class, in this paper I will discussing How the financial crisis of 2007-2008 affect the stability of banks in the United States and how we got into this crisis and how we go out of this crisis Robert Bennet [Email address] financial crisis of 2007-2008 The Great Recession The great recession also known as the financial crisis which began in 2007 with the united states subprime mortgage analyst and economist have different views on the causes of this big Global mishap international trade malfunctions adding to debt and real estate troubles soon as the recession started many solutions were attempted with diverse levels of success. Fiscal policies were put in to place for our government monetary policies of central banks took effect and actions were taken to put consumers in debt this was a plan to bail out the troubled banking system and private bondholders this crisis led to nothing but global downfall. . Banking crisis High Mortgage approval rates and lots of home buyers forced prices to rise on homes. Appreciation values was led to many homeowner to take out loans on their homes subprime and non subprime homeowners this would cause inflation in price on single family mortgage delinquency rates to shoot to the moon I can remember seeing a bunch of homeowner being foreclosed. Mortgage backed 1 financial crisis of 2007-2008 securities disappeared and the value of these assets dropped severely. Every time you looked at CNN or Bloomberg TV all you seen was these big subprime lenders filing for bankruptcy big name such as Lehman Brothers the following day after the federal government announced a bailout of 80 plus billion dollars saving some of these lenders such as AIG and Fannie Mae making it harder to get loans from these institutions. How this crisis began The cause of the crisis was the breakdown of the United States housing programs. Banks in the United States started giving out loans for people, who wanted to own houses. They relied on the fact that those people are going to pay them back by the time the given period for them was set. True, there was interest included in every pay check that was late but the interest level was too low that it wasn't enough make up for the lost money the banks gave out for people. Interest rates were decreasing by a huge amount until it reached the point where the decreasing started to backfire and started to increase. the prices of the houses increased by approximately 124% by 2006. Which eventually caused home owners to refinance their houses at lower interest rates. United States economic effects Goods and services made by labor and factories in U.S declined tremendously at a annual rate of about 6% in the last quarter of 08. Unemployment rate went up during this time I was actually unemployed and it was hard finding a job and for some people it was hard keeping. Impact on developing countries 2 financial crisis of 2007-2008 The impact was Major on developing countries although they were not the ones who caused it. Countries that had nothing to do with the begining of the crisis went down because of the fall in the stock market. That was a global issue that hit every single country. Conclusion... The financial crisis of 2007 should be a lesson learned for people to be less greedy. After all it was greed that started this mess. This crisis still has its effect on the world. At the end of the day what I have learned is that if people live in what their abilities and resources allow them to do they won't be having no mishaps of this sort. people won't have to take loans or anything, but just simply living off their skills and abilities.
