As far as their retirement plans are concerned, the Useltons both hope to retire in 20 years, when they reach age 65. Both Gene and Stacey work. and together. they currently earn about $9 a year. Here is the rest their financial information. A number of years ago, the Useltons started a college fund by investing in bank CDs that fund is n worth $45,000. They have $50,000 that they received from an inheritance invested in several mutual funds and am $20,000 in a tax-sheltered retirement account. Gene and Stacey believe that they'll be able continu saving for retirement by putting away $6,000 a year for the next 20 years. The Useltons are fairly conservative investors and feel they can probably earn about 6 percent on money. (Ignore taxes for the purpose of this exercise.)
