Organizations can differ on their view of what strategic financial management encompasses. What is an appropriate definition from your point of view (perhaps augmented by some Internet research)?Is your view consistent with usual current practice?Does the definition/scope depend upon company size, industry, and status as a new or mature industry?

Discussion 2: Streamlining the Public School System

Public school systems are not noted for providing student education at minimum cost. Can private-sector financial management techniques be applied readily to running a school system?

Please note that there are at least two sources of school department expense -- administration and programmatic. The programmatic aspects include instructional technology (e.g., on-line instruction) and which programs are offered.
