Here's the example the professor provided for Battery.

Battery. One definition of Battery is "an intentional act that causes a harmful or offensive touching". A fact pattern that demonstrates the elements of Battery is as follows:

Susan is standing on the sidewalk in downtown New York, waiting for the bus. Pete walks out of his office on his way to a meeting. As he gets to the sidewalk, near Susan, Dave sees a cab and yells "Hey taxi: trying to get to Taxi to pick him up and take him to his meeting. Susan thinks that Dave is saying "Hey Sexy" to her. Susan them turns around and deliberately slaps Dave's face leaving a bright red hand print.

Susan's action was an intentional act that caused a harmful touching.
