yn Problem II: Find the error in the following "proof" that the harmonic series 1+1/2+1/3+ ... converges: Well, a series converges if its sequence of partial sums converges. So let Sn = =1 1/k be the nth partial sum of the harmonic series. We must show that the sequence {sn} converges. But |Sn - Sn+1| = 1/(n + 1), and if E > 0 is given then we can take N > 1/ and then n > N implies 1/(n+ 1)
