Can you help me with an explanation of what to do here?

The purpose of this assignment is to make sure you're on the right track for your pilot study.

Include the following:

1. A clearly stated research question
2. One or two hypotheses
3. Variables you'll be testing (no more than three IVs/DVs, but at least one of each)
4. Measures you could use to test those variables and how each measure is a good way to operationalize the variable
5. Specific tests you'll use to test research questions/hypotheses and an explanation of why that's the best test to use

I am having trouble understanding #3.
