Question 1 Geoffroy died in 2019 and left the following legacy: "$500,000 to my trustees, Margaret and Lisa, to hold on trust to provide a soup kitchen for the benefit of any of my impoverished friends". (a) Discuss whether this legacy will amount to a valid charitable trust? [15 Marks] (b) In the event that the trustees find that Geoffroy has no more impoverished friends after a year of applying some of the funds to providing for the soup kitchen, can the remaining money be applied to other charitable purposes?
