And here is my response:With comparative analysis, it is easier for decision-makers to find the proper solution to problems by reducing the number of errors that could affect the solution to problems. "Managers assign a numerical weight to each criterion, from most important to least important" (FVito et al., 2020, p. 204), the criteria in this case, are the potential solutions to the problems they could face. With comparative analysis in policing, there could be clarity as to why administrators choose to do things a certain way and see what leads them to make decisions. There are similarities and differences in managing police departments and improving the communities they serve. According to Roelofse (2015), there are multiple areas administrators manage. They need to study the population of the city and compare it to the number of officers that can effectively serve the community (p. 262). By having the administrators see where resources are needed the most, it can help police administrators determine where to have more patrols or where to have more foot patrol for example. Many variables can help contribute to and solve an organizational problem. An example that can be seen in policing and with police work with the community. According to Darroch and Mazerolle (2015), the police have to be credible to have the interest groups and community relationships continue. They need to make sure they make constant changes to fit the needs of the community (p. 2). These are some valuables that help the relationship of the police with the community. Police administrators can help make decisions in the community by either hiring more officers or providing more training to fit the needs of the community.
