Tony is a double leg amputee who uses prosthetic limbs to walk. He is very popular in the community as an inspiration for someone who has overcome great difficulties in life. He and Mary had been dating for a few months. One night, Tony shoots Mary while she is in the bathroom. When the police arrive, Tony tells them that he got out of bed to close an open window and heard a sound in the bathroom. Although he lives in an exclusive gated community with private security, Tony says that he was worried an intruder had entered his home. He says he did not have his prosthetic legs on at the time. He got his gun and went to the bathroom. He fired several shots and broke down the door. He found Mary wounded and unconscious in the bathroom and called security for help, but she died soon after due to wounds to her head.
