As someone who values efficiency and clear direction, I tend to take charge and steer initiatives based on my own vision. However, adaptive leadership requires letting go of control at times and trusting my team to find their own solutions through trial and error. While I excel at maintaining disciplined attention and regulating distress during change, I struggle to fully amplify the voices of those below my level. I can become overly focused on top-down execution rather than facilitating an open exchange of ideas from all levels. To truly apply adaptive leadership, I would need to work on stepping back, listening more, and creating a psychologically safe space for my team to voice concerns and suggestions without fear.
