The video that I watched today is about the problem of incarceration not as an individual but demographic group. The concern with this is that mass incarceration of the young black man is a lot higher than any other demographic. The issue with this is that children in families exposed to one of the incarcerated parents are 99% likely that the child will do the same and end up in the system of corrections in a non-ending loop. The rates have kept increasing in the last decades from 100k to more than 500k in the modern-day. I think the way to solve this non-ending loop is to help families with incarcerated parents into programs in the community, so the children get a better interest in careers, so they don't end up in the corrections system.
