Can you restate these two paragraphs using different words?

 

Part I

The article discusses the different properties that make sentience to shine a light on the characteristics of sentience AI and chatbots have. Whilst reading the article I saw ways that the different models were used in AI and chatbots. I clearly could see that the scientists and engineers who made this technology took these mental states of language models and used them to adapt the technology to make it more suitable for humans. The way AI and chatbots have been developed and are still being developed is in a way that is familiar to humans so they must have characteristics of sentience but it is important to note that they don't actually have it; they are only programmed that way. I also think it is important to note that although the technology has these characteristics, they are not perfected. There can be obvious differences from something made by a human and AI. But, this is changing so in the future it could become harder to figure out what is real and what is fake.

 

 

Part II

The author describes sentience as a human characteristic that can not be replicated. It is the ability to experience feelings and sensations. Something that technology can imitate but cannot actually do. All technology is designed and modeled by humans and without humans it would be nothing. The author rejects the notion that technology can have sentience because they deem it impossible. I agree with this notion because although technology is advancing to become more human like it is doing that not on its own but because there are humans behind it making it happen. Will never actually feel something just because you are being told to feel it. If you told an actor to be sad in a scene where something bad happens they would be acting sad but not actually feeling that way. Similarly if you programmed technology to be sad when something bad happens it is not actually feeling that way but is acting in a way that it has been programmed to by a human. I don't think technology will ever have sentience as sentience is a naturally occurring phenomenon and technology is completely man made.
