Utilizing a decision-making process in both my future professional and academic careers will allow for me to come to deliberate, thoughtful decisions. Decision-making processes help us make choices by identifying a decision, gathering information, and assessing alternative solutions. This approach can increase the chances that you will choose the most satisfying alternative possible.

One item in the decision-making process that resonated with me the most was identifying alternatives. Often times when we start the decision-making process we already have a solution or decision in mind, but sometimes it may not be the most reasonable, thoughtful and satisfying choice. However, by identifying and exploring the alternatives, you collect information and identify several paths of actions or alternatives that you did not initially think of.
