A Yokogawa centum VP DCS is used to control the permeate flow rate in a lab scale reverse osmosis apparatus. The measured variable is the permeate flow rate and the controlled variable is the reject pressure as shown in figure (1). If the permeate flow rate (FT101) is read through channel6 of module AAl143- H inserted in slot2 of node3 of the DCS configured in domain1 and the reject valve (PA102) is controlled through channel7 of AAI543_H inserted in slot3 of the same FCS. The variables used in both transmitters are currents between 4 to 20mA. a- Obtain the address of the permeate flow rate input channel (YOKOGAWA DCS form) b- Obtain the address of the valve output channel (YOKOGAWA DCS form) c- Draw the configuration table showing how both transmitters are configured in IOM builder? d- If a PID controller is used with P=180,I=2.5 and D=0.5, draw a function block to represent the closed loop. e- How do you select the three terms in the DCS? f- If the set point is 2L/min, how do you select it in the DCS? reject control valve Fig(1)
