They sampled seven white oak trees and determined the average density of leaf-mines caused by C. hamadryadella on randomly chosen leaves for each tree. They also recorded the average density of leaf-mines on leaves which they observed C. tricinctus to visit on each tree. Test the hypothesis that C. tricinctus chooses to visit leaves with leaf-mine densities that are higher than the average density of leaf-mines on these
