A recent pilot study showed that children with asthma had altered carnitine levels after an exacerbation. To test whether there is a mean difference in carnitine levels in adult asthma, a research group recruited 60 participants: 20 healthy individuals without asthma, 20 mild asthmatics, and 20 severe asthmatics.
