Case 2-14. Validate Subpoenas for Disclosure of Health Information You are the disclosure of health information coordinator. It is your responsibility to process all subpoenas received by the department. The first thing that you will need to do when you receive a subpoena from the appropriate authorities is to review it to ensure that the subpoena is valid. Review the subpoenas shown in Figures 2-8, 2-9, 2-10, and 2-11.

Assess the subpoenas for validity. If they are not valid, identify the deficiencies.
