Case - 5: Gulf Greetings is a holding company based in Dubai has started its operations in Oman in January 1, 2020. It has 2 branches in Oman - Muscat and Ibra. The bookkeeper of the Ibra branch has caused the following errors in the books of the branch. i. Purchase of plant for OMR 25,000 was debited to Purchase Account ii. Old furniture sold OMR 200 is credited to Sales Account. iii. Purchase of computer for OMR 200 has not been recorded at all. iv. Amount received from Abdullah OMR 5,000 is wrongly credited to Ali Account. Sale of OMR 8,000 to Qasim is posted to Hussain Account. vi. Sale of merchandise OMR 500 is posted to Sales Account as OMR 5,000. vii. Rent expense paid OMR 400 is debited in Cash Account OMR 400 and credited in Rent Expense Account 400. viii. Salary payable OMR 6,000 is recorded twice. ix. OMR 500 paid to supplier on credit purchase and OMR 500 received from customer on credit sales are not recorded at all. x.
