CASE ANALYSIS

You have been a Los Angeles City Deputy City Attorney for twenty-two years. You are a veteran forensic accountant, but recently had a promotion blocked and was transferred out of an assignment representing the Department of Water and Power. You believe this transfer was caused by you speaking out to your supervisors about some conflicts of interest she had observed between the Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo and some outside law firms. The dilemma is whether you should 1) take these concerns to another level; 2) learn a lesson and move on by doing the best job you can at your new position; or 3) simply resign your position and find a position in another company. You are a single parent of 2 high school children and have no other family in the city.
