CASE BACKGROUND

MGMT Mobile Company (MMC) offers mobile services to users on a monthly subscription basis. Special discounts are given to customers for frequently using their pre-or post-paid mobile service. Customers can also sign up online or visit one of ten outlets stationed at various locations around the country. Customers can opt to receive their bills either through the post or online but all payments are due by the 21st of each month. An 18.5% mobile tax is applied to the cost of all services. All transactions, customer calls and other data are captured in a database, where specific data can be extracted for decision making. As a new employee of a team in the IS Department of this corporation, your manager wants you to produce some reports for him to review for the next quarter, such as which types of customers should be targeted for special offers and how much money is received for taxes. Reports reaching Executive management revealed that all of the outlets were receiving increased orders for mobile phones. These requests comprised features above and beyond the basic characteristics of mobile phones, such as Wi-Fi or cellular access to the internet or a Bluetooth connection to another device; a battery that powers the device; a physical or on-screen keyboard; touchscreen interface; a virtual assistant, such as Siri, Cortana, or Google Assistant; the ability to download data from the internet or another device and wireless operations. Furthermore, these specialized features labelled "above and beyond the basic characteristics of mobile phones" originated from personnel in sales and service, education and health care industries. You are required to review the above case and produce a Case Study (WORD) Report that responds to the following questions on the case.

1. Select one of the industries mentioned in the case (sales and service, education or health care) and discuss THREE (3) features of mobile phones you would consider to fit the category of being above and beyond the basic characteristics of mobile phones. The discussion should include an explanation and relevance of each feature. The feature(s) you choose to consider must not be stated in this document.

2. Explain TWO (2) named security features that MGMT Mobile Company can implement to enhance the competitive nature of mobile phones at their various locations. Provide adequate justification for your choices.

3. MGMT Mobile Company (MMC) is seriously considering the trends in the market and is looking forward to engaging in a movement from e-business to m-business. Explain FOUR (4) areas MMC would need to adopt in order to facilitate this movement in business.
