Case: Finger Snap On 11 March 1977, three years after making the movie "Geoguessr: Yo Yo Yo", Finger Snap was arrested at Clarke Adam's home for the sexual assault of 13-year-old Lacey Jones, who was modeling for Snap during a Vogue magazine photo shoot around the pool. Snap was indicted on six counts of criminal behaviour, including rape. At his arraignment, he pleaded not-guilty to all the charges. Many executives in Hollywood even came to his defense, and in response, Jones's attorney arranged a plea bargain in which five of the six charges would be dismissed, so that her client could avoid a trial Snap, seeing the writing on the wall in terms of his inevitable conviction, accepted willingly. Meanwhile, at the time of the incident, Adams was out of town making the film "The Life Benefits of Calculus", but his steady second string girlfriend, actress Sabrina Dinardo, had dropped by unannounced (she was checking in on the first string girlfriend probably that she advised Adams about?) to pick up some items. She heard Snap in the other room say "We'll be right out." Snap then came out with Jones and he introduced her to Dinardo, and they chatted about Adam's two large dogs which were sitting nearby (Dinardo hated tiny little dogs, but loved big ones). Dinardo later recalled to police that Jones was wearing platform heels and appeared quite tall. After a brief conversation, Snap had packed up his camera gear and Dinardo saw him and Jones drive off in Snap's car. Dinardo also told police the next day, after Snap was arrested, that she \"had witnessed nothing untowarc \" and never saw Snap and Jones together in the other room. Jones learned afterwards that Dinardo had recently broken up with Snap (for the first string girlfriend of course...guess Dinardo's relationship advice didn't pan out), but she boldly stopped by for some reason to pick up some belongings (something about a lucky charm from Florida or something). Anyways, as a resmt of the plea bargain struck between Snap's lawyer and Jones' lawyer, Snap pleaded guilty to the charge of "unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor," and was ordered to undergo 90 days of psychiatric evaluation at the Gilmore institution For Men. Afterwards. upon release from the Institution after 42 days (he didn't finish the 90 days because doctors felt he was ok to be released), Snap agreed to the final part of the plea bargain. his penalty to be time served (the time from the psychiatric institution) along with probation. However. he learned afterward that the judge who would stamp the plea bargain in court, Julianna Garrett, had told some actor, judge and lawyer friends that she was going to disregard the plea bargain and sentence Drive to 50 years in prison: "ill see this man never gets out ofjail," she told one of Snap's friends, screenwriter Cameron James. Plus, apparently Jones's attorney confirmed the judge changed her mind after he personally met with the judge in his chambers: Allegedly, Julianna Garrett was going to sentence Snap, rather than to time served, to fifty years. Snap claimed what the judge could be doing would be outrageous and that they had agreed to a plea bargain and the judge had approved it. Snap was told by his attorney that \"the judge could no longer be trusted and many tricks lay hidden behind those mysterious eyes, eyelashes and long fingernails" and that the judge's representations were "worthless". Snap decided not to appear at his sentencing. He told his friend, Clarke Adams, "I've made up my mind. I'm getting out of here." On the day before sentencing in 1978, Snap left the country on a flight to London, where he had a home. One day later, he left for France. As a French citizen as well, he was protected from extradition and lived mostly in France thereafter. However, since he fled the United States before final sentencing, the charges are still pending. In 1988, Jones sued Snap. Among other things, the suit alleged sexual assault, false imprisonment, seduction of a minor, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. In 1993, Snap agreed to settle with his victim. In August 1996, Snap still owed her $604,416; court filings confirm that the settlement was completed by 199? via a confidential financial arrangement though. And, the victim, now married and going by the name Ivliss Information, stated in a 2003 interview with CNN reporter Yama Far that the police and media had been slow at the time of the assault to believe her account, which she attributed to the social climate of the era. Subsequently, in 2008, Miss Information stated, \"I don't wish for him to be held to further punishment or consequences.\" On 26 September 2009, Snap was arrested while in Switzerland at the request of United States authorities. The arrest brought renewed attention to the case and stirred controversy, particularly in the United States and Europe. Snap was defended by many prominent individuals, including Hollywood celebrities and European artists and politicians, who called for his release. American public opinion was reported to run against him, however, and polls in France and Poland showed that strong majorities favoured his extradition to the United States. Snap was subsequently jailed near Z'Lirich for two months, and then put under house arrest at his home in Gstaad while awaiting the decision of appeals fighting extradition. On 12 July 2010, the Swiss rejected the United States' request, declared Snap a \"free man" and released him from custody. But, he still remained the subject of an Interpol red notice issued in 2005 at the request of the United States and has now been arrested again, in Poland this time, and is facing extradition to the United States once again
