Nordstrom is the second American luxury department store to expand in Canada after Saks Fifth Avenue. Nordstrom opened its doors in Seattle (USA) 120 years ago. The first three Canadian stores opened in Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver within the past four years. Hudsons Bay Co. bought U.S. Saks Inc. with plans to roll out an additional eight Saks in Canada. It will add pressure to the retail incumbent in an increasingly competitive department store
landscape. However, Nordstrom is preparing to foster goodwill with the Toronto community. Similar to all of its previous Canadian openings, a charity gala was held two days prior to each opening.
Nordstrom plans to eventually operate between 15 and 20 Nordstrom Rack locations in
Canada in addition to its luxury stores. Currently, there are six Nordstrom Rack
locations.
2020 marked the 6th anniversary of Nordstroms in Canada and
Nordstroms
Canadian Vice President Michelle Haggard planned to celebrate this milestone in 2020. As
a result of COVID and the lingering pandemic, plans had to change. Nordstrom would now
like to host an event in the fall of 2022 with a celebratory theme. This needs to have the
capacity of being hybrid as well.

Decide on the type of special event that Nordstrom should showcase as part of its successful Canadian alignment. Should have a charity component. Must be appropriate to the target audience/publics.

Name your event. The name should be appropriate.
Include your event description on a separate page that details the type of event you are
proposing. Your first page should be your cover page with your name, and email
address.
Include a variety of communication/media tools minimum of 5 per each (pre-
promotion/prior to event day (2) event day promotion and (3) post event Total of 15.
Should include (1) pre-promotion, (2) event day promotion and (3) post event (after the
event). Each should be focused on a specific media/social media.
Use the template format. Complete all column information thoroughly. This should be
