Case study 1 - Quang Quang is a 22 year old male, with English as a second language, who is diagnosed with Cerebral palsy and depression. Quang is currently unemployed and is finding it difficult to speak to employers. Quang struggles with his low moods and lack of self-confidence, and get frustrated very easily. Although at various stages in his life he had tried to gain employment, he finds that employers do not want to employ someone in his position. Quang is very bright and excels in computers, but gets very anxious dealing with people face to face. Quang becomes very defensive through the session and lacks eye contact, he indicates that he is very depressed and has negative thoughts that control his actions. Quang presents with poor hygiene and appearance. Quang gives you a list of employers and support services that he wants to work on but needs your help. Case study 2 - Shea You are working as a mental health support worker and have been allocated new service user, Shea. Shea is a 16 year old high school student who was diagnosed with anxiety and depression seven months ago. Shea is currently taking daily medication and attends a psychologist once per week to manage her mental health issues. Shea requires your support to self-advocate at her high school to make some changes to accommodate her diagnosis and complete year 10 education successfully. Case study 3 - Harley Harley is a 39 year old cross dressing male, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. Harley is a large male who works in construction but prefers to wear female clothes. Harley is in the belief that he feels better in women's shoes, but is afraid of others judging him due to the industry he works in. To stop judgment, Harley changes his shoes in the car before stepping out of the car and feels ashamed of who he is. Harley struggles with his loss of memory, false beliefs and sometimes he hears voices, and is dependent on Marijuana to cope with these voices. Although at various stages in his life he had tried to talk about his experiences to various Doctors, Psychiatrists and mental health works, but he believes that they are all judging him. Harley is afraid of the impact it has on his employment, thoughts and interaction with others. Please review the above three (3) case studies on each individual client and answer the following questions for each case study separately. 5. What are the legal and ethical considerations you need to be aware of for each client?
