Case Study A - Suggesting a resource planning method T2W Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of electric two-wheelers. Recently the management has witnessed some losses due to a lot of wastage and rework at the manufacturing level at each shop. The management has appointed a team of four consultants led by Lisa, a planning expert. Lisa and her team did a thorough analysis of the processes and tools being used in the overall manufacturing assembly line. The team concluded that the root cause of this problem (almost 45 per cent of the loss) was the absence of a consistent method of resource planning across the organisation. The team has submitted a report of their findings to the management. The management has now asked the team to continue with the good work and to suggest the best suitable method for planning resources.

For this activity, you will work with 4-5 of your peers, who will play the role of the planning team members. Discuss the importance of resource planning with your team. Lead a discussion with your team regarding the various methods of resource planning using business equipment and technology. Suggest which method might be most suitable for the manufacturer T2W. Your discussion should be no longer than 30 minutes. Please include dialogue as this is a role play.
