Case Study: Evaluating the Variance of Needs for Difference Audiences As an analyst, you are preparing different reports for different audiences. Sometimes the audience is C-Suite, sometimes white-collar company employees, and sometimes blue-collar company employees in your company, and sometimes this report is going outside of your company to broader audiences. Every project is different in terms of its audience and there are significant variations in report styles to different audiences. In this assignment, you will brainstorm the specifications of the reports using different scenarios. Write a 2-3 page report on all of the three (3) scenarios below and defend your points of view using some of the bullet lists as a starting point and extend the writing around the questions and add new comments to that specific audience. Scenario 1: As an analyst, you were preparing a presentation to the COO of a commercial airline about the On-Time Performance of company operations at different airports last year. Should the report be as long as possible or as short as possible? How is length determined? Should there be more text or more graphics? Should the meeting be short or long? How do you determine meeting length? Scenario 2: As an analyst, you are preparing a report to the Pilot Union about the Flight delays and possible pilot related reasons (e.g., illness, proficiency, missed connections, etc.) for last year. Should the report be as long as possible or as short as possible? How is length determined? Should the report go to proofreading before sharing? This delays the report but may polish it. Should the language be formal or informal? Should the report prepared by only analysts, or should pilots get involved in the process? Scenario 3: As an analyst, you were investigating the current operational efficiency and utilization of aircraft tracking systems and wished to present your findings to your supervisor who is a manager at the Business Analytics department. The results of your analysis say the current system is making accurate measurements however there are a few improvements that you are recommending. Should the language be formal or informal? Should you book a meeting or talk about it in your weekly one-on-one meeting? Should you prepare a ppt or just the numbers out of the statistics software you utilized?
