CASE STUDY

Jake Asunta and Clan Perez was good friends. They hired together in 2012 by a big dress company in Batangas as a salesman. Jake, who has a better educational background, became the company's marketing department manager after two years while Clan continue as a salesman.

Clan envied Jake because of the better opportunities and appointments given to himn by the company administration. Quietly, Clan enrolled in evening classes so that he would be able to finished his college education and hopefully be appointed as a department manager like Jake.

After two years, Clan succeeded in getting a college diploma, but since there was no

vacancy in any of the supervisory or managerial position, he still remained as a salesman.

Promotion to a higher ranking position became an obsession for him and this affected his Work perormance. He was not happy anymore because he lelt that he was not being giventhe recognition that was due him. He kept comparing himselt to Jake, who, by 2022, was already the company's vice-president for administration.

given that Clan has been with the company for ten years?
