Case Study on: Ali and the overbooked flight In one of the biggest airports in the Middle East, Ali was grabbed by two security men with badges and radios. He was dragged from his seat into the aisle. The airline company had overbooked the flight and needed four passengers to voluntarily take different flights. The airline offered money and a hotel room, but no one volunteered. Four passengers were selected randomly, and three left the airplane without incident. Ali said he was a doctor and needed to get to a hospital in his country destination to treat his patients. "The flight was overbooked," the airline company spokesperson said. "After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate."
