RTC Renovations has employed you from Aspiring Management Solutions (AMS) to help them adapt their Operational Plan into a workable business operation. You are the external consultant.

You are a junior consultant with a diploma in business and have been working with AMS for the last four years. Part of your role has been to guide businesses to new directions and approaches in their business future and to make pathways to success.

The manager from RTC Renovations has discussed ideas with you in a meeting, and wants help analysing the Operational Plan to identify gaps that need to be developed for future business progress and day to day operations. You are required to work with the management team to bring in new ideas and champion these to meet new workable solutions for the organisation.

The manager has given you the Operational Plan to analyse and work on and has given you open opportunities to suggest new operations and go forward with the organisation plan.

Formulate KPIs to monitor operational performance

  • You should identify three (3) KPIs for your plan
  • One of the KPIs should be WHS based and HRM based
  • Ensure each KPI satisfies the SMART criteria: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound

Developing strategies for your Operational Plan

An operational plan is a key tool for managing an organisation. It provides the manager with detailed information on the work that must be done to ensure that planned goals and objectives are achieved. From this, strategies can be developed to align with the Operational Plan to make them workable for all to achieve

From the Operational plan, you are required to write four (4) strategies, key action and their procedures in the template below. These strategies should include the following areas:

  1. WHS
  2. HRM
  3. Technology and Software
  4. Controlling stock and expenditure

For each area you are required to devise and apply strategies to establish productive and working relationships with all people concerned
